Dear Future Buyer,
There are so many wonderful features of this home! This was our first home purchase as a married couple. We wanted something that was close to everything and preferably walkable without being downtown. We loved the uptown area and specifically Green Street, but had a few issues when looking at older homes. We were thrilled when we found the new construction in the area, and the garage is such a perk because street parking can get crowded. We loved the front porch and spent many evenings outside eating and chatting with the neighbors. We upgraded the interior to make the house more modern, including the first floor and the second-floor rock wall. We also loved the exposed brick in some of the homes we saw in Uptown and wanted to do something similar, but a little more modern in our home. Also, the two large bedrooms are a plus, and our visitors loved having their own bathroom when staying with us. We were also really excited about being close to the river as we are both runners and avid coffee drinkers, so Little Amps being a block away was a win! It was such a lovely home to us, and we would have stayed for many years if it wasn’t for new job offers.
Central PA offers living in a smaller community with less traffic congestion and more friendly neighbors. The location of our home is outstanding. The home is walking distance to the famous Broad Street Market, Millworks and Midtown Bookstore is just a few blocks from the river. We spend many weekends with our cars parked, exploring the different breweries and catching a movie at Midtown Theatre. It is such a great area if you are active, as the riverfront park is great for long walks or jogs. The neighbors in uptown are fantastic and many hang out on the porch, which gives us all a chance to get to know one another.
Without a doubt, you could not beat the area we live in. The convenience of shopping, access to the PA Turnpike, I-81, I-83 is a major influence in moving to this area. Millworks restaurant is our regular spot, we love the variation the restaurant offers and were super excited when the rooftop opened. It’s a great spot to bring visitors and of course the local artwork is really fantastic. We are also big fans of Broad Street Market which has a ton of different vendors for quick bites in the stone building and produce in the brick. Our favorites are Elementary coffee and Note, which is on second street and is a great spot for a romantic dinner. Uptown offers so much for a variety of different people from all ages and backgrounds which is an even bigger plus to Harrisburg!
The school district is excellent for children of all ages. Although we don’t have any kids, although I did participate in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program and my little went to Harrisburg Christian and loved it!
This home has been perfect for us during the time we have lived here and I am very excited for you to love it as much as we have!
